See, not every Christian agrees with Camping, in fact, I would guess that the vast majority of Christians in American and worldwide do not agree with him.

What I cannot figure out is, why is the media reporting any of this anyway? Are there not real issues to be covered? Scandals and corruptions in governement? How can they be watchdog on government abuse when they are too busy writing nonsense stories about nonsense?

Christians, if the news stories and books claiming that there are christian dominionists who want to take?

Question by Guardian: Christians, if the news stories and books claiming that there are christian dominionists who want to take?
control of the worlds governments are actually true, how do you feel about that? Are you in favor of a christian theocracy in the U.S. and then eventually a global christian theocracy? Didn’t we already go through that with the Holy Roman Empire and weren’t alot of christians even persecuted by that government?

The world has lots of whackadoodles. Some of them want to take over the world (none are able). Some of them are Christian. It has no effect on my life.

2) Are you in favor of a christian theocracy in the U.S. and then eventually a global christian theocracy?

I would want to know the details of such a supposed theocracy before giving a firm answer, but probably I would be opposed (unless we are talking about the Millennium during which Jesus himself rules the Earth).

3) Didn’t we already go through that with the Holy Roman Empire and weren’t alot of christians even persecuted by that government?

The Holy Roman Empire certainly was not a theocracy, so the answer is: no. I don’t recall Christians being persecuted under that government – but I admit my knowledge of the history of that empire is limited to the most historically-important aspects. As I recall, the authority of Christianity was firmly subjected to the authority of the emperor – but that is far short of persecution.

Christian Dating Singles- Trailer “I Once Was Lost -The Series” (@elainealaniz)

I Once Was Lost Real, funny, crazy but always true to heart, ‘I Once Was Lost’ takes on a topic that so many of us deal with in our everyday lives but rarely see presented on screen: dating as a Christian. As a young, single professional living in the big city, Elaine wants the same thing every other young Christian woman wants: someone to share her life with and someone who shares her beliefs. You’d think that wouldn’t be too hard to find, right? Think again. As Elaine navigates her way through the dating world, she soon discovers that trying to find Mr. Right while staying on the right path is easier said than done. From Speedo-wearing religion hoppers to kleptomaniacs to wanna-be Christian rock stars with delusions of grandeur, Elaine soon realizes that dating in the Christian world is more complicated and far crazier than she ever imagined. Despite all of the disastrous dating mishaps, Elaine is still determined not to compromise her faith for love and prove that in order to find “The One,” you don’t have to lose yourself in the process. Originally touted as Sex and the City goes to church, IOWL has become much more than that one-liner implies. Given its strong Christian themes, humor, and music, which has become an integral and popular part of the series, IOWL is a hit among women and men alike among broad demographics. Episodes 1-8 is available on YouTube, Hulu, Facebook, and FunnyorDie.com Episodes 9 coming soon! Created & Written By: Elaine Alaniz Developed

Will the new Egyptian government be able to stop an impending Christian vs. Muslim civil war there?

Question by I Score With Every Woman I Meet: Will the new Egyptian government be able to stop an impending Christian vs. Muslim civil war there?
Check this out:
http://www.ajc.com/news/nation-world/christians-and-muslims-clash-865044.html

The place could blow up like Nigeria or Pakistan, with widespread intra-religious warfare.

I think what Egypt needs is a strongman leader like Stalin, who would blow up all the mosques and churches in the country and get rid of religion there. Fighting over land or water makes sense.
But religion? LOL.

Ayasofya

Ayasofya

Ayasofya is much older than the other big buildings of Istanbul, because it was originally the Byzantine Church of holy wisdom. This building survives from the 6th Century (on the site of an even older church). When the Ottomans conquered Istanbul, they rededicated it as a mosque, and painted over the old mosaics because Islam prohibits depictions of people. Shortly after the secular Turkish Republic was founded, the place was turned into a museum, and a restoration effort started, though the restoration has itself been controversial because important Christian art is often covered by important Muslim art, so it’s not always possible to preserve both.

Christian Pilgrims Celebrate the Epiphany in the Jordan Valley, Jan 2011

January 20, 2011.

Last Tuesday (January 18th), the Christian holiday of the Epiphany was celebrated by thousands at the Qasr Al-Yahud baptism site in the Jordan River Valley. The site is widely considered by Christians to be the place where Jesus was once baptized by John the Baptist. Around 11,000 Christians arrived at the site, among them Israelis, Palestinians, and many who made the pilgrimage to the Jordan River Valley from all corners of the world.

For the first time, the pilgrims were allowed to dip themselves in the flowing waters of the Jordan River, as the Civil Administration worked to make the necessary arrangements to accommodate the mass pilgrimage to the site over the past year. The main ceremony of the Epiphany took place midday, led by the Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos III.

The ceremony was organized by the Civil Administration, and security was provided by the Israeli Border Police and the IDF. For more details, see our website.
