Will the new Egyptian government be able to stop an impending Christian vs. Muslim civil war there?

Question by I Score With Every Woman I Meet: Will the new Egyptian government be able to stop an impending Christian vs. Muslim civil war there?
Check this out:

The place could blow up like Nigeria or Pakistan, with widespread intra-religious warfare.

I think what Egypt needs is a strongman leader like Stalin, who would blow up all the mosques and churches in the country and get rid of religion there. Fighting over land or water makes sense.
But religion? LOL.

George Hunt on Alex Jones Tv 1/9: The Inner Workings of A One World, New Age Government

Alex welcomes to the show George Washington Hunt, a former naval officer and an official host at the UNCED 4th World Wilderness Congress. Hunt is educating the public on a secret bank set in motion by international financier Edmond de Rothschild and Maurice Strong. Hunt exposes this conspiracy in his 30 minute documentary, The Big Bad Bank. www.thebigbadbank.com www.infowars.com

The One World Government Idea Origin

The Idea of a One World Government has been in the heads of a few all throughout history, the actual beginning was right after Noah’s Flood described in the Bible. When humans had multiply quite a bit, a man was born, the first human to actually declare war against the Most High, though this may not be fully obvious by only reading the verses as they have been translated in the different English versions of Scriptures, without going deeper into the meaning of certain words in the Hebrew text.

The First World Leader

The King James Version renders the text regarding the birth of Nimrod as:

Genesis 10:8-10
8And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one(H1368) in the earth.
9He was a mighty(H1368) hunter before(H6440) the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty(H1368) hunter before(H6440) the LORD.
10And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

By reading only this text concerning Nimrod, as we find it in the King James Version, we would end up with a completely wrong idea about him, since it actually seems he was in favor of Yahweh and maybe fighting for him, but instead the contrary is true.

If we look up in the Strong’s Dictionary the word translated as “mighty one” in the verse, we can find a better word to describe the character of this man, the same goes for the original Hebrew word translated by King James as “before” which gives an impression that he was before him maybe in reverence.

H1368
?????    ??????
gibbôr  gibbôr
ghib-bore’, ghib-bore’
Intensive from the same as H1397; powerful; by implication warrior, tyrant: – champion, chief, X excel, giant, man, mighty (man, one), strong (man), valiant man.

H6440
?????
pânîym
paw-neem’
Plural (but always used as a singular) of an unused noun (???? pâneh, paw-neh’; from 6437); the face (as the part that turns); used in a great variety of applications (literally and figuratively); also (with prepositional prefix) as a preposition (before, etc.): –  + accept, a (be-) fore (-time), against, anger, X as (long as), at, + battle, + because (of), + beseech, countenance, edge, + employ, endure, + enquire, face, favour, fear of, for, forefront (-part), form (-er time, -ward), from, front, heaviness, X him (-self), + honourable, + impudent, + in, it, look [-eth] (-s), X me, + meet, X more than, mouth, of, off, (of) old (time), X on, open, + out of, over against, the partial, person, + please, presence, prospect, was purposed, by reason, of, + regard, right forth, + serve, X shewbread, sight, state, straight, + street, X thee, X them (-selves), through (+ -out), till, time (-s) past, (un-) to (-ward), + upon, upside (+ down), with (-in, + stand), X ye, X you.

After seeing the full meaning of the original Hebrew words, we can see the bigger picture and actually figure out what the text is really trying to say.

The verse could be better written as:

Genesis 10:8-9
8 Cush begat Nimrod; he began to be a tyrant in the earth.
9 He was a tyrannical hunter in opposition to the Yahweh. Thus it is said, ‘Nimrod the tyrannical opponent of YHWH.’

Importance of Names

The Almighty shows us all over scriptures how important names are, when reading them, you wont be able to go though a couple pages without seeing a reference to His Mighty Name, the Importance, the Power or Pureness of It. There are many other different ways in which we can see how important a name is to the Almighty, not only His Name, but names in general, the fact of pronouncing them with your mouth, or in this case writing a name in His book the Bible. For example, there is something curious about Nimrod and the description given of him in the Bible, and that is that Nimrod was not his real name. The word Nimrod comes from the Hebrew verb “marad” meaning “Rebel”, the addition of an “n” before the “m” turns it into an infinitive construct, making Nimrod mean “The Rebel”.

I believe the Book of Life could be a book like the Bible being written at the moment, describing all the things that are happening with the people of the Almighty as the Bible tells us of our forefathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The reason why I say this, is because just as we are told to be pure so that our names may be written in the Book of Life, so it seems to have been the case with the Bible, since the real name of who we came to know as “Nimrod” was kept out of it, because of his actions and rebellion, he did not deserve the honor to be written by name in the greatest book, so his real identity was kept  a mystery, just as all of those who wont be written in the Book of Life for not accepting the Messiah, but might be mentioned during the story of Life for one or other reason in the Book, but using only an adjective, just as in Nimrod’s case.

The Name of  “the Rebel”

Through human history and the discoveries of many archeologist, we can deduce that the man called “The Rebel”(Nimrod) in scriptures, was actually named Gilgamesh in real life. He was the King of Uruk in southern Mesopotamia, the Bible agrees with this and the name of the place it gives, as you can see in verse 10, is Erech.

Here is one of many pieces found depicting Gilgamesh:

The reign of Nimrod is a reflection of the One World Government prophesied in Scriptures, Gilgamesh also known as “the Rebel” according to the Bible, is the perfect model for what the future World Leader will be like, as we can read in the book of Thessalonians the coming king can also be consider a rebel.

2 Thessalonians 2:9-10
9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

Scriptures describe the coming World Leader as a “lawless one”, which means “one rebelling against the laws of the Most High”, like the name Nimrod(the rebel) suggests was the character of Gilgamesh, the very first man to become King of the World and to declare war against Yahweh.

Something very interesting that adds more weight to both articles  Barack Obama, the Antichrist? and These are the End Times, is that President Barack Obama, may I say “coincidentally”, got a very significant codename for the secret service according to the Suntimes and other sources.

President-elect Barack Obama — aka Renegade — had a say in choosing the code name that his protectors use when they’re whispering into those microphones in their sleeves. He was given his choice of several names starting with R.

There’s no word on why Obama selected Renegade.

But it’s a sure bet he wasn’t thinking about the word’s origins. According to the Online Etymology Dictionary, Renegade’s earliest meanings had to do with deserting one’s religion, coming from the Spanish word ‘‘renegado,” originally ‘‘Christian turned Muslim.”

(via Suntimes)

Looking up the definition of Renegade codename for Barack Obama we get:

ren·e·gade

1. One who rejects a religion, cause, allegiance, or group for another; a deserter. 2. An outlaw; a rebel.

From the definition of Renegade we can conclude that President Obama’s codename is also “The Rebel” , an outlaw or lawless one, a deserter from the truth,  just like Gilgamesh.

Here’s a video to illustrate how well this codename fits Barack Obama:

Watch the Videos at TheDoggStar.com

He sure does seem to be pretty lawless and also a deserter from the whole meaning of truth, taking in account every time he changed his statement depending on who was listening to him at the moment, as the great deceiver.

I guess we could even call Barack Obama “Nimrod” as well, taking in mind the meanings are all the same.

The Epic of Gilgamesh

Another similarity connecting Gilgamesh to Nimrod is the story of  the Flood in the Bible, which is also described on the 11th tablet of the Epic of Gilgamesh and it is called by them, The Babylonian Flood, all these taken from almost 200 lines of poetry on 12 clay tablets inscribed in cuneiform script .Commentators agree that the story comes from a much earlier period, not too long after the Flood as described in the story.

The Epic of Gilgamesh

Another finding was a piece depicting the supposed face of Huwawa or Humbaba in the Assyrian version:

Huwawa

It was said of him, “Humbaba’s roar is a flood, his mouth is death and his breath is fire! He can hear a hundred leagues away any (rustling?) in his forest! Who would go down into his forest!”

It was believed that Humbaba sent the flood on earth and according to the story, he was killed by Gilgamesh and his half-man, half-beast friend, Enkidu. Some suggest Huwawa is the ancient pagan perspective of Yahweh (YHWH), the Almighty.

Gilgamesh and Enkidu

Nimrod First King of The World

There’s a book called the Scroll of Yasher or Book of Jasher and it is one of the many books left out of the Bible and it explains many events in a lot more detail than other books of the Bible.

One of the subjects it details is the reign of Nimrod.

The Scroll of Yasher 7:46-46
45 And all nations and tongues heard of his fame, and they gathered themselves to him, and they bowed down to the earth, and they brought him offerings, and he became their sovereign and king, and they all dwelled with him in the city at Shin`â´r, and Nimrod reigned in the earth over all the sons of Nóah, and they were all under his power and counsel.
46 And all the earth was of one tongue and words of union, but Nimrod did not go in the ways of Yâ-hwéh, and he was more wicked than all the men that were before him, from the days of the flood until those days.

Nimrod was the first man to proclaim himself a god and it was even said that he was two-thirds god and one-third human.

The Tower of Babel

Scroll of Yahser 9:20-21
20 And King Nimrod reigned securely, and all the earth was under his control, and all the earth was of one tongue and words of union.
21 And all the princes of Nimrod and his great men took counsel together; Puw?, Mitsráyim, Kuwsh and Kná`an with their families, and they said to each other, “Come let us build ourselves a city and in it a strong tower, and its top reaching heaven, and we will make ourselves famed, so that we may reign upon the whole world, in order that the evil of our enemies may cease from us, that we may reign mightily over them, and that we may not become scattered over the earth on account of their wars.”

The Bible describes this event in the book of Genesis chapter 11.

Genesis 11:4
4And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

The Scroll of Yasher continues…

Scroll of Yahser 9:24-26
24 And they began to make bricks and burn fires to build the city and the tower that they had imagined to complete.
25 And the building of the tower was unto them a transgression and a sin, and they began to build it, and while they were building against Yâ-hwéh the Mighty Ones of heaven, they imagined in their hearts to war against Him and to ascend into heaven.
26 And all these people and all the families divided themselves in three parts; the first said: “We will ascend into heaven and fight against Him“; the second said: “We will ascend to heaven and place our own mighty ones there and serve them“; and the third part said: “We will ascend to heaven and smite Him with bows and spears“; but Yâ-hwéh knew all their works and all their evil thoughts, and He saw the city and the tower which they were building.

The people of Nimrod were planning to build what we know now as a Stargate, hoping to be able to walk into heaven, where the “gods” were, and take it over. Modern day Iraq was the perfect place for this structure which such an end to be built, it is said that Saddam Hussein was thinking of building the Stargate or “Tower” himself and that was actually the real reason for the Illuminati to take him down, since the Illuminati wants to control every place in the world that may have a higher connection with other dimensions, called heavens back in the day, the place of the Temple in Israel is the last spot they are hoping to get under their control.

This piece was found in Iraq close to the city of Babylon, nowadays Bagdad.

Nimrod aka Gilgamesh is at the top, next to what seems to be a tower or very tall mountain, being worshiped or served by all.

The Bible follows saying…

Genesis 11:5-6
5And Yahweh came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
6And Yahweh said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

They were all in one mindset and according to Yahweh Himself, this made their goal possible, which means that if humans were to be all in one mind, we could accomplished anything, unfortunately in this case as it is nowadays, they were all as one mind but for evil, as the Illuminati wants the whole world to be, in one mind to accept the New World Order, which will be the completion of Nimrod’s idea, this was the reason why Yahweh did what’s next on the text in order to stop their evil plans.

Languages Confusion

Genesis 11:7-9
7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.
8 So Yahweh scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because Yahweh did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did Yahweh scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

From this moment on, the world had 70 different languages according to the Book of Jasher this happened in only a matter of instants so that the people building the tower couldn’t understand each other anymore, therefore stopping the construction.

Scroll of Yahser 9:33:37
33 And from that day following, they forgot each man his neighbor’s tongue, and they could not understand to speak in one tongue, and when the builder took from the hands of his neighbor lime or stone which he did not order, the builder would cast it away and throw it upon his neighbor, that he would die.
34 And they did so many days, and they killed many of them in this manner.
35 And Yâ-hwéh smote the three divisions that were there, and He punished them according to their works and designs. Those who said: “We will ascend to heaven and place our own mighty ones there and serve our mighty ones”, became like apes and elephants; and those who said: “We will smite Him of the heavens with arrows, bows, and spears”, Yâ-hwéh killed them, one man through the hand of his neighbor; and the third division of those who said: “We will ascend to heaven and fight against Him”, Yâ-hwéh scattered them throughout the earth.
36 And those who were left among them, when they knew and understood the evil that was coming upon them, they forsook the building, and they also became scattered upon the face of the whole earth.
37 And they ceased building the city and the tower; therefore he called that place Bâvél, for there Yâ-hwéh confounded the Language of the whole earth; look, it was at the east of the land of Shin`â´r.

Yahweh gave a different punishment to the three different sets of people that had an specific idea in their minds of what they would do once having enter heaven through the Tower of Babel. At this moment in time all languages were given to mankind and all men were separated throughout the world depending on their tongues.

Most gods in all religions of the world actually derive from Nimrod as the head and his family as the rest of the trinity. When Nimrod died, his wife Semiramis was pregnant, she said to be in this state miraculously claiming to be a virgin, she then had son who she named Tammuz and said he was the reincarnation of his father Nimrod. They were all worshiped by men as the representation of god the father, the virgin mother and the son messiah, like I have said in previous times, the story of Yahuwshua coming to save us all has been written in the stars ever since creation, ergo “Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven”, also ever since the fall of Adam and Eve, they human race was told by the Almighty that He would send His son to save us of our sins, so of course Nimrod and his wife also knew the story, all they did was used the power he had in the world to proclaim himself as god, all this being of course foreshadowing the things to come in the latter days, when the ultimate False Messiah will come to rule the world and claim to be god.

When the tongues were confound by Yahweh and the people were scattered, all those who were used to praise Gilgamesh as their god, Semiramis as goddess and then later Tammuz as the reincarnation of Nimrod, changed the original names they had for them as well as every single word in their vocabulary, therefore when praying or referring to their gods, they would now called them using completely different names according to the new different languages, this would create a great diversity of names and religions, all worshiping the same three people, but with the new names they had came up with.

Confusion of Deities

They were the beginning of the legend of Osiris, Isis and Horus in Egyptian mythology and Semiramis, the Mother goddess is the root for what is worshiped nowadays as the “mother of god” a term used by the Catholic church, but not found anywhere in the Bible.

Here is a picture showing how the worshiping of the mother Semiramis and son Tammuz, after Nimrod’s death, was taken all over the world through the different names depending on the areas or kingdoms and you can see how it resembles a 100% with the picture given by the Roman Catholic Church.

Semiramis in Different Religions

Some people of Israel continued worshiping Semiramis through the years, with the name Ashtoreth as we can read in the Bible, so it shouldn’t be of any surprise that many of those who claim to worship the Almighty in this day and age, are actually still worshiping the goddess and false little messiah, like Israel was doing during those days.

2 Kings 23:13
13 And the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the mount of corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had builded for Ashtoreth the abomination of the Zidonians, and for Chemosh the abomination of the Moabites, and for Milcom the abomination of the children of Ammon, did the king defile.

Also Tammuz, this time with his own name, is found in the Bible, in the book of Ezekiel.

Ezekiel 8:14
14Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the Yahweh’s house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.

Is very clear how the false messiah Tammuz, was being worshiped by some Israelite women who were weeping his death inside the Temple of Yahweh, just like Christians nowadays go to church, which according to them is supposed to be the House of the Almighty, to worship the same guy with a different name and also just like back in the day, they still weep because he is hanged dead on a cross, which is a symbol that derives form the first letter of the name Tammuz and is called the Tau, instead of believing in the real Messiah, Yahuwshua, who’s name is only One and who is alive for eternity.

New World Order

The World Leader that is to come, which could very possibly be President Obama (Barack Obama Antichrist), will unite the world in One World Government, having One World Army with the false threat of an alien invasion, having One World Currency working through the chip and finally a One World Religion with the False Prophet at it’s head, getting the world ready to receive the Abomination of Desolation from the book of Daniel, as god on earth.

Revelation 13:7
7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation.

The United Nations is the revival of the Roman Empire, which was deadly wounded to the head yet is now living again, their final goal is to bring about the New World Order under one man, as envisioned by Nimrod back in the day.

It is funny to noticed the influence of Freemasonry in the making of the logo, since the world presented in the emblem only seems to have 33 coordinates, just like Masons have 33 Degrees.

Here is also a picture of the headquarters of the United Nations in New York, with the world at the front sorrounded by their control.

New York could be said to be a modern day city of Babel, where we can find people of all races and languages and also find a depiction of both pagan gods, the Statue of Liberty being Semiramis and the Obelisk located in central park called Cleopatra’s Needle representing Nimrod’s Phallus.

During their 60th Anniversary, the United Nations came out with a quite interesting motto and a logo to go with it.

“A Time for Renewal”, showing their intentions in all splendor to the world, a time for a New World Order, to bring about the One World Government under Lucifer, as we can see in the next picture using their anniversary logo to subliminally send a message to the people during one of the conferences, showing the 666.

There has been already a World Passport manufactured for these people serving plan.

Rebuilding of The Tower of Babel

To start closing up this article, I want to show you the “Tower of Babel” painted by Pieter Brueghel, as he could picture it. This image became the model to represent the actual Tower.

Tower of Babel by Brueghel

The European Union made use of this image and created one of it’s own, basically advertising the New World Order and also sending many other subliminal messages.

They are clearly portraying the Tower of Babel when speaking of their objective in the world but also the top is surrounded by 11 upside-down pentagrams,  a very important symbol in Satanic Rituals for invoking the Devil, it also represents the 5 statements made by Lucifer before his fall, saying what he wanted to achieve, told in Isaiah.

Isaiah 14:12-14
12 ” How you are fallen from heaven,
O Lucifer, son of the morning!
How you are cut down to the ground,
You who weakened the nations!
13 For you have said in your heart:
(1)‘ I will ascend into heaven,
(2)I will exalt my throne above the stars of Yahweh;
(3)I will also sit on the mount of the congregation
On the farthest sides of the north;
(4)14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,
(5)I will be like the Most High.’

Funny that Lucifer said that he wanted “ascend into heaven”, exactly like Nimrod’s idea, who’s plan is just a physical manifestation of Lucifer’s desire, this meant going from his realm or dimension to the highest dimension, where the Most High sits of course, where no man can go, for no one has gone up to heaven but he that came from heaven like Scripture states.

John 3:13
13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.

Lucifer wanted to go up to the Highest Heaven and be like the Most High, set up his kingdom over all the stars of the Almighty and so was the goal of Nimrod and his people, but just like the Tower of Babel, Lucifer was brought down to the ground, being denied any access to any higher places and left on earth for a small period, a short period of time in which he will enter a human body a proclaim himself to be god, finally accomplishing world domination through his new means, which are the people in one mind agreement with him, all connected through the Microchip, to then make war against the Most High trying and take over heaven as well.

I believe that the way the European Parliament was built in contrast to the known model of the Tower of Babel, it paints a perfect picture of the world’s destiny with a pinch of sarcasm in part of these devils called Illuminati.

It was obviously Erected in a way to look as an unfinished tower.

Another model of  Tower of Babel being subliminally programmed in our minds, is seen in the movie “Star Wars”. I’m referring to the Head Quarters of the King of Evil taking over the galaxy though the Dark Force, Darth Vader, who’s story also resembles Nimrod in a way.

The Death Star, also an incomplete structure or destroyed in part, as the headquarters for the Evil Darth Vader looking for world Domination

Finally, for the last touch, the most used Tower of Babel or Incomplete Tower, is actually the most important symbol of the Illuminati, the Incomplete pyramid, which some believe is a Stargate itself.

The all seeing eye at the top of the pyramid, is the eye of Lucifer and the Latin writing means “New World Order“, the Romans numerals at the bottom of the structure are for the year 1776 when Illuminati was created by Adam Weishaupt, at least by name , since Lucifer has had the plan all along. On a future writing I will go into more depth on this matter. By taking out the repetition of Roman letters, which are the values of 10, 100, 1000, we end up with the number of the Beast 666.

The capstone missing, will be placed, whether symbolically or physically, on the coming of the False Messiah, most likely on 2012, finally establishing the One World Government in its totality.

I hope ya’ll enjoyed this one, take care and blessings.

The Christian, Politics, And The Government

What role if any should the Christian play in politics?  All any man can know about the subject is what the Bible says and since it was written for the benefit and enlightenment of all men in all ages of time from the time it was first penned until the last day of this earth’s existence and for all cultures and under all the different kinds of governments under which men have lived it speaks to us not in specifics but in general statements on the subject.  As it relates to specifics it is often hard to know exactly what one ought to do under some of the scenarios which arise but we have God given principles by which we can act.

I write on this topic not so much out of a desire to do so but because a discussion of the subject is needed especially at this time where here in America I doubt the country has ever been more sharply divided than it is now other than in the years leading up to and during the Civil War.  There are two very distinct trains of thought in our society about what the nature of our country ought to be and it seems any middle ground has disappeared leading to anger and bitterness on both sides.  So where does a Christian fit in, what does he do, what should he do?  What does the Bible teach?

First of all it should be clear to all who truly want to be what a Christian ought to be that one’s first order of business ought to be to be as much of a Christian as he/she can be every single day of his/her life.  What does that mean?  It means I ought to live a spiritual life daily.  “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.   Against such there is no law.” (Gal. 5:22-23 NKJV)  Just above this passage in Gal. 5:19-21 are listed the “works of the flesh” (V. 19) of which I would like to list two of those works that are listed as they pertain most directly to the topic at hand (politics), namely, “hatred” (v. 20) and “outbursts of wrath” (v. 20).  The reader can clearly see the contrasts between the works of the flesh and those of the spirit.

Furthermore, there is a passage in Eph. 4:31 which also speaks directly to the issue, “Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.” (NKJV)  When we (Americans) are so deeply divided over the issues it is very easy for a citizen who is also a Christian to become bitter and angry and think and speak evil of others who are in opposition and even reach the point where he/she despises them in his/her heart.  Yes, the Bible teaches we ought to hate evil, “You who love the Lord, hate evil!” (Psalms 97:10 NKJV, see also Prov. 8:13 and Amos 5:15)  Hate the evil but love the person.  “He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” (1 John 4:8 NKJV)

We ought to hate the evil a government does when it enacts laws that are contrary and supportive of evil (say as examples laws supporting gay marriage and abortion) and it must be admitted for it cannot be denied that government is made up of the men and women who make the laws.  Yes, they are responsible for the evil a government may allow or do in its lawmaking and governing capacity but in a democracy we are also accountable in that we vote the lawmakers and the executive into or out of office.  We as a nation will be held accountable which means we do need to vote for those candidates running for office who are most supportive of Christian principles.

We can and ought to hate laws that are contrary to God’s teaching in the New Testament and also the kind of thinking that leads to those laws but yet have compassion for the misguided lawmakers who made them in that each has a soul that is worth more than all of the wealth of this world combined.  “For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” (Matt. 16:26 NKJV)  Jesus said, “I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” (Mark 2:17 NKJV)  That was his mission.  What is the mission of his servants?  Are we in the condemning them to hell camp or are we in the converting them to Christ camp?  If our reaction to ungodly laws that are passed is one of hatred, anger, bitterness, railing, and reviling against the lawmakers then we have done two things – (1) we have allowed politics to destroy our own soul and our hope for heaven and (2) we have ended any hope that those responsible can be converted due to our unChrist like attitude and reaction toward them.

Do not misunderstand, the unjust are not going to heaven, which includes lawmakers who have promoted sin via the laws they have helped pass.  The Bible does not teach that they are.  It does teach, however, that the Christian’s job is to do his/her best to bring the world to Christ.  We must teach the truth of the Bible on every Bible subject.  If the powers that be in government reject the truth God will deal with them on the last day.  “‘Vengeance is mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord.” (Rom. 12:19 NKJV)  As for the Christian God says, “give place to wrath” (Rom. 12:19 NKJV) or as the ESV translates it, “never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God.” (Rom. 12:19 ESV)

The Bible teaches we ought to pray for those in authority.  “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Tim. 2:1-4 NKJV)

One might say what do we pray for when we pray for them?  We might pray any number of things.  We might pray that they be given wisdom, that if there is need that they might be led to repentance, we might pray that God would work providentially in their life to help them see the light, we might pray for their welfare and that of their family, and as the text says we should give thanksgiving for them.  We might say sometimes what is there to be thankful for in some men?  Well, we ought to look for the good.  Generally speaking a man who can only see evil in another is probably not looking very hard for any good in him.

No one was ever more unjustly mistreated by government than Jesus himself.  Pilate declared Jesus innocent when he said, “I am innocent of the blood of this just person” (Matt. 27:24 NKJV) and then turned right around and had Jesus “scourged” (Matt. 27:26 NKJV) and handed him over to be put to death.  Do you think that might have aroused bitterness and anger in most of us had we of been in Jesus’ shoes or been a family member or close friend?  Yet, Jesus “was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth.” (Isa. 53:7 NKJV)

Peter says, “when he was reviled, did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously.” (1 Peter 2:23 NKJV)  God is the ultimate judge of everything and everyone.  The government may do great evil but the Christian answer is to follow the example of Jesus.  “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” (Rom. 12:21 NKJV)  “Do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, ‘Vengeance is mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord.” (Rom. 12:19 NKJV)

That God does judge governments (thus countries) cannot be doubted by any person who has ever read the Old Testament.  It was not just Israel and Judah that God judged and brought to ruin.  If you will read the Old Testament prophets you will read of nation after nation that God prophesied judgment against through his prophets and eventually brought to ruin.

Even before that we can go back to the time the children of Israel were given the land of Palestine after their departure from Egypt?  Why did God drive out and destroy those nations that occupied the land before Israel?  Because of evil, of sin, of wrong doing.  Moses speaking on behalf of God told Israel prior to their entry into the promised land that “it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is driving them out from before you.” (Deut. 9:4 NKJV)  Every nation God brought judgment against in the Old Testament was brought to judgment because of its sin and evil.

A couple of points need to be made here.  (1) Generally speaking a country comes to be whatever its leadership leads it to be or allows it to be.  Thus, in the Old Testament history of God’s people we read of good kings and bad kings.  When a bad king ruled idolatry and other evils were in the ascendancy; when a good king came to power a check was put on that and some, if not all, of the evil was rolled back.  Leadership (government) is always for the better or the worse.  (2)  God will eventually judge a nation for its evil even if the leadership led it to be that way unless there is repentance.   Needless to say repentance is hard to come by.  (The reader would do well to read Jer. 18:7-10.)

Unfortunately, from a human point of view, when God brings judgment on a nation the just often suffer along with the unjust even if it be only for a time.  When Judah was carried away into Babylonian captivity for the sins of the nation Daniel and his three friends had to go too even though guilty of no sin themselves.  The just became captives along with the unjust.

Romans 13 is the chapter that tells us our duties as Christians toward the government.  “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities.  For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.” (Rom. 13:1 ESV)  Paul goes on to say, “Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.” (Rom. 13:2 ESV)  Paul then goes on to explain that government is meant for our good, not to bring evil upon us. (Rom. 13:3-7)  I think we all understand the need for government and how there must be laws, rules, and regulations for our safety and wellbeing.  Try and imagine living in a world of utter chaos and lawlessness where there was no government at all and it was every man for himself.

There is also a passage in Titus we need to take note of, “Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men.” (Titus 3:1-2 NKJV)  So we are to obey government but there is more here in this passage for our consideration.   One who desires to get involved in politics ought to ask himself this question – can I do it and obey the scriptures at the same time?  Will it lead me to be peaceable, gentle, to be humble, and to never speak evil of another or will it make all of that harder for me?

By getting involved I am not speaking about running for office (although that would be included) as much as I am about becoming immersed in politics in that I follow it so intently that it comes to be a major part of my life and my being.  We need to be informed citizens and know the issues and the candidates but when I become so immersed in politics through the news outlets and programs that it begins to dominate my life almost like being possessed that is what I have in mind and am talking about.  Is that good for the Christian?  Will it help or hinder you in developing the fruit of the spirit in your life?

Does there ever come a time when government must be resisted?  Peter answered that question in Acts 5:29 when he said, “We ought to obey God rather than men.” (NKJV)  He was not speaking to the Roman authorities as he spoke but rather to the Jewish authorities.  Nevertheless, the principle would be the same.  If our government was to fall into the hands of Islam and we were commanded by Iaw to abandon the Bible and Jesus as Lord do you think God would say okay, obey the government you are now under?  To ask is to answer.

When I say that under such circumstances we ought to resist the government I do not mean by taking up arms.  Christians do not go to war to fight, kill, and maim but we ought to do as Peter and the other apostles did.  What did Peter and the other apostles do?  They simply continued to go on about their business of being Christians and doing the Lord’s will.  Now I grant you some Christians did die because of it (Stephen and later James come to mind) but they were to “rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings.” (1 Peter 4:13 NKJV)  “Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to him in doing good, as to a faithful creator.” (1 Peter 4:19 NKJV)

The Christians in the church of Smyrna were told, “Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.” (Rev. 2:10 KJV)  Here is an example of the government throwing Christians into prison (who else had that power) and possibly, if I understand the passage correctly, ending in their death although the phrase does not have to mean that.  It is certainly, however, an admonition to faithfulness even if death is the result.

The Bible teaches not that every single government that has ever existed has been good and has done what is right.  If so why did God destroy the nations he did in the Old Testament?  If so why were so many Christians murdered by the Roman government in the first two to three centuries after the Christian faith came to be?  It does teach we are to submit to government and only resist in the way I have spoken of and only do that when the laws made by men violate the law of God.  The resistance consists solely of living as a Christian despite what the government might do to prevent it.

The God given purpose of government is for the good of man.  However, as long as men are the governing body men will be men which inevitably means there will be some ungodliness in them.  That is not God’s fault but man’s.

So, to what extent should a Christian become involved in politics?  I think I should ask a better question, one that is also easier to answer, and is more personal.  To what extent do you think you can do so and still maintain the fruit of the spirit and be the person God would have you to be?  When I answer that question for myself I know it pretty much sets some severe limits on my involvement.  As a Christian living in a democracy and having been given the right to vote I feel I have the duty to go vote even if it means for the lesser of two evils so to speak.  Beyond that I think I need to leave it with God for my soul’s sake.

If we believe God is still an active God in the affairs of man (I believe the Bible teaches he is) then he is going to work it all out eventually in the way that is in accord with his will and righteous nature.  Yes, that may mean sometimes evil men rule but they rule for a reason if they do (God knows why).  But, always bear in mind God is in charge.  Daniel talks about a decree made against King Nebuchadnezzar in Dan. 4:17 and says it was made, “In order that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, gives it to whomever he will, and sets over it the lowest of men.” (NKJV)

God is in charge.  Evil governments may arise for a time but they shall be punished for their evil eventually.  If you think your government is evil and doing wrong and you are right about that God will take care of it in due time one way or another unless there is repentance.  Sin never goes unpunished unless repented of and forgiven.  But the question is for me as an individual – what do I do as it relates to politics and the government?  The answer is I live as a Christian.
