New Book Aims to Bring Readers Closer to God

Schererville, IN (PRWEB) January 24, 2012

When the author known as One Listener was 29, she had a wonderful job with an airline company and traveled extensively, but nothing seemed to satisfy her. One day while reading a book, she asked Jesus to come into her life and make Himself known to her. Shortly thereafter, she started to see new purpose and direction filling her life ? God?s purpose and direction. In One Listener?s new book, ?Lord, I’m Listening? (published by WestBow Press) she shares with readers and fellow Christians her messages from the Lord.

?After many years of receiving these beautiful messages from the Lord, I felt a prompting that God was calling me to share these messages with others, as they can apply to anyone?s life,? One Listener says.

“I am as interested in your life as you are. Leave all to Me, and all will be well with you. My promises will reveal to the world My loving concern and care for people?s lives. Because I live, you live! All lives are open to Me; don?t hold back or be afraid to speak of Me. You must yield to My Spirit?s holy leading. All lives are crying for something to hold on to?to know what is real and able to sustain them. My people must draw together before Me and seek Me to know My leading. The world is desperate for the one thing that only I can give it. Be free, be holy, and be Mine. I am leading you.” -One Listener

?God loves us beyond what we can ever imagine and He is interested in every detail of our lives,? says One Listener. ?He wants us to know Him in a personal way. He wants us to take time to be still and know that He is God, to listen to Him speak to our hearts and to comfort and strengthen us in our walk with Him.?

What others are saying about ?Lord, I’m Listening?:

?I was blessed by reading your book and would encourage anyone who wants to be blessed by God’s Word to read and ponder this book.?

One World: One Society: Bring Down All Frontiers

One World: One Society: Bring Down All Frontiers

One World: One Society, No frontiers

Frontiers are man made.

We impose geopolitical frontiers on ourselves.

We create our own ghettos and live within it.

We create walls of separation among ourselves.

We distinguish ourselves from the others for we think we are better.

Well, if we you have one nose and I have two, does this make me better than you are? I can only breathe more air, and maybe take your share of oxygen.

But I don’t.

We both have one nose each, so what’s the difference?

Two heads or One

If the man in New York has two heads and the man in Beijing has one then there is a difference, in shape. Does the man in New York think better for he has two heads? Or would he be mixed up in thinking, for one head can think something while the other thinks the opposite?

But, the American has only one and so the man in China.

Every human being has one head, with one case or two in the history of humanity.

We all have the same form and shape. We all have the same needs, whether basic or secondary. We all are born of parents, We all age. We all think. We all eat and drink. We all have to sleep. We all confront the universe by obligation. Then, we all have to die. No immortals left to tell our stories to other generations.

 Sharing Same Things

Have you heard of someone who breathes water while you breathe air?

Do you know of one individual who breathes carbon dioxide while you breathe oxygen?

We all practice love (sweethearts or parents, children or animals). We all practice emotions of friendship and enmity, of appreciation and hatred; of hope and despair; of fear and surety.

States: Big Prisons

But we live in big prisons, man made. For some consider themselves are better than others.

It is when a group of people decide that they are better than others that distinctions begins. This sense of distinction creates a sense of difference. The sense of difference creates identification with the group leading to physical separation from others. It is this that starts off isolation. Identification with the same kind does not create the need for separation. But it is rather the result of wanting to be separated.

The history of mankind demonstrates this human separatist tendency from the rest of the flock.

Animal World

Animals live in groups. These are species identification features which prompt different characteristics. A herd of chimpanzees live separately from a herd of Lyons; wolves live separately from sheep; elephants live separately from zebras.

But all animals live in the same jungle. There is room for everyone.

But Man’s species is one and the same, exactly the same. A Frenchman foes to the same doctor as a Japanese. He can have the same illness as his fellowman. They are both treated equally. They both have the same treatment. They both have the same medicaments if symptoms of the same illness are presented.

The Frenchman believes he is French and identifies the Japanese as Japanese.

Distinction is often practiced on the account of skin color. Jesus is presented as black in some African countries. He might have been black, but what difference does make if Jesus was black or white, Red blue or yellow?

Countries of the European Union are recently united, despite their differences of language, of belief-systems or non belief-systems, of their conflicts and war, of their individual chauvinism.

The African countries have been in the process of uniting their efforts to bring a unity to Africa.

South African states are doing the same.

Ideology and Religion

Last century has witnessed two great super powers conflicting in complete opposition to one another. The United States and Western Europe on the one hand and the Soviet Union on the other.

Every super power boasts with its own ideology. Every super power claims to be better than the other.

They divided up the world into zones of influence. Each Power feeding its own ideology to small states spreading its influence. The world was divided up into zones of protection ideologically belonging to To one or the other.

Now the socialist experience has completely failed and the United States is left alone in the arena to dominate the world. The United States with its capitalist ideology, which means rich people poor people; strong people weak people; master people slave people; leading people submitting people, attempts, and has well succeeded, to dominate a great part of the world.

Might is right, and money opens all doors.

Religion and belief systems

Man is free to choose and practice whatever belief system he likes. There is no compulsion in religion. For everyone his own religion. A society is by definition a multicultural consociation of humans. It contains all mankind with all their thoughts, aspirations and actions.

While morality is the basic foundation of humanity, individuality is preserved to denote the freedom of man and his value.

New Leviathan

The United States exploits its military power to dominate other states and subdue other peoples.

It uses its economic influence to buy other states.

It spreads its influence now, since there is no rival,

To bring its culture, or no culture, other weak states, even strong ones like China and Israel.

Well, human history is a history of dominance and power. The strong eats up the weak.

It is when people awake to their rights and responsibilities that such a tide of power influence

Can be stopped.

Difficult, but it must be done.

Religion is another factor in creating ghettos. It is a very strong element in separation from the others.

After what the criminals of humanity besides Stalin, Paul Pot we have Ben Laden and his religious Mafia al-Qaeda, destroying and killing in the name of religion. In the name of God man kills man. In the name of ideology man kills man. In the name of a country man kills man.

Then we have the worst of all enemies to humanity: the Dictator. How many millions were killed for the glory of Napoleon Bonaparte? How many millions were killed for the glory of Mao Tse Tung? Hoe many millions were killed for the Japonese Emperor Hiro hito and the glory of Mussolini and Hitler. Fifty million people have lost their lives in World War II.

Now we have two hundred ruthless psychopaths dominating over seven billion humans. These are the main handicap that hinders peoples’ unity.

Do you think they are prepared to give up their thrones for the world to unite?

Never.

The World offers everything

The world offers all humans everything. Their means of subsistence, their means of survival and much more. There is room for everyone. There is enough food for everyone.

If rich states and their dominant dictators share their wealth with world population then there shall be enough for everybody.

Monopolization of wealth in the hands of few hundreds of rich people deprives the world from their means of subsistence.

It is when dictators step down from their thrones; when rich people share equally their wealth of the people and when willingness of mankind to see that there no differences between humans that human ghettos are finally broken down; frontiers are demolished and world society can live in harmony and in peace.

A dream, and a big one,

but the one thousand mile trip starts with the First Step.

Bring The Kids! 5 Must-Visit Sites In The Holy Land

You come to the Holy Land with your children. You’re excited to show them the land, to teach them about its rich history and its centrality to Christianity. But kids just wanna have fun! Fret not! In Israel, you can do both at the same time. Take advantage of the unique experiences the Holy Land offers. Swim in the Kinneret, the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus walked on water. Clamber over ancient Crusader fortresses. Point out the flora and fauna that existed in the times of Abraham, Moses and Jesus.

Here are 5 kid-friendly stops for your Holy Land itinerary:

North:

Walk in the water at the Majarsa Nature Reserve! The Daliot River, which runs into the Kinneret, forms the perfect water hike. Wade through the river, befriending exotic dragonflies and fish along the way. Remember to bring waterproof shoes or sandals – the rocks are slippery! The water level ranges from ankle to waist-height (though the level depends on the rainfall from the previous winter.) You might have to carry the small ones through the deeper portions; older ones will relish the chance to swim in the refreshingly cool water. Babies and toddlers can enjoy the hike as well, happily reclining in a baby carrier, as Mom or Dad does all the work! The hike lasts about twenty to thirty minutes, depending on the crowds (and the speed of your crew.) Reward your kids – and yourself – for a job well done at the ubiquitous “artik” (Hebrew for ice pop) stand that will greet you upon exit.

Note: Depending on the amount of time you will be in Israel, it might be worth investing in a parks pass. For the price of the pass, you have unlimited access to all the national parks in Israel for a year. You can purchase a pass at any of the parks.

At Bat Ya’ar Ranch, near the ancient, mystical city of Tsfat, you may hear your kids say, “Wow!” “Cool!” or “Can we do that again?” But they will definitely not say, “I’m bored!” The ranch, one of the foremost horseback riding sites in Israel, has plenty of fun for everyone. Parents and kids, ages 10 and up, can take a (gentle, trained) horse out for an hour (or longer). For a true “havaya” (Hebrew for “experience”), go on a two-day horseback trek! Meander “out west,” stopping for the night at a unique ecological village. Bat Ya’ar also offers a challenging ropes course (open on Saturdays and holidays), as well as Israel’s only outdoor bowling site! The younger crowd can enjoy all sorts of age-appropriate activities, such as pony rides, pita-making, and a petting zoo. Bat Ya’ar also offers activities for groups – contact the ranch for more information or to make reservations. (office@batyaar.co.il or 04-682-2268)

Center:

The Tisch Family Zoological Gardens – aka The Biblical Zoo, located in Jerusalem – offers all the wonder and enchantment of a zoo through a unique Biblical perspective. The informational signs tell readers not only about the animal’s diet and habitat – but also where this animal is mentioned in the Bible. The zoo is spread out over 62 lush, well-maintained acres. Observe the magnificent animals – regal lions, playful monkeys, slithery reptiles, and majestic elephants; hike a short path to a fantastic viewing area and observe zebras, giraffes, and hippos bathing in the cool water. Don’t miss out on the Children’s Zoo, complete with a petting zoo and a Noah’s Ark-themed playground. Surrounding the playground is a beautiful sculpture garden – which youcan touch and climb on! The Children’s Zoo also offers shade and comfortable benches, and, of course, refreshments. Relax with an ice cream or ice-cold drink before continuing on your way.

Have a budding archaeologist on your hands? Then grab your trowel and soil sifter and head to Bet Guvrin to participate in Dig for a Day! (What? You don’t have your own trowel and soil sifter? That’s okay – the folks at Archaeological Seminars, who run the digs, will provide them for you!) The program, which is appropriate for adults and kids over the age of five, runs approximately three hours. While that might not be enough time to unearth and reassemble King Tut, it will be jam-packed with digging, sifting, examining your finds, and then touring the park. Crawl through the vast, labyrinthine cave system (don’t worry, it’s guided) and marvel at the complex underground rooms built hundreds of years ago. Keep in mind that you need to pay separately for entrance into the park, in addition to the fees for the dig.

Ein Hemed, just off the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv highway (Route 1), an oasis of green in a mostly brown country, is filled with fascinating Crusader remains and leafy grounds. The Crusaders who lived here long ago gave the place a different name – Aqua Bella, meaning “beautiful water,” in appreciation of the refreshing stream that runs through the park. At the entrance of Ein Hemed is a small playground, but what will surely fascinate the little guys for longer is the imposing, two-story Crusader manor. Walk through the magnificent arched gate into a central courtyard and investigate the well-preserved rooms. (Terrific for a game of ultimate hide-and-seek!) Follow a path to a burial cave that scholars have dated to the Second Temple period. The gurgling stream adds to the beauty and serenity of the park. Guided tours are available with a reservation, including a “Genesis Tour,” “Nature’s Right to Water” and “William the Crusader.”

The experiential is what we remember the most. Let your kids run, swim, climb, and dig – let them touch their history with their own two hands (and feet). The impact of this experience will resonate with them long after the dirt is scrubbed off and the ice pops are finished.
