Well, it would be okay to play it, but if you adore it more than God and play it other than reading ur Bible and going to church then it would be a big problem.

Would E.T. Be The End of Organized Religion?

Would E.T. Be The End of Organized Religion?

One of the most ridiculous statements I have heard from the Atheists camp is that “If an extraterrestrial landed on earth, it would mean the end of religion”. I believe the statement results more from wishful thinking than real “logic”.

Why would the existence of extraterrestrials pose a threat to Christianity, God, or religion in general? Does the Bible say anywhere that a scenario like that is not possible. In fact in John 10:16 Jesus said, “Other sheep I have which are not of this fold”.

Is it logical that God, who created the earth as a paradise for mankind, could not, or would not, possibly do the same somewhere else in the vast universe. I like what the leading character in the movie “Contact” said when asked if there could be other planets with life on them. She said “If there isn’t, it would be a tremendous waste of space”.

I admit that it is possible that the earth is the only world suitable for life and that we are alone in the universe, but I don’t say it is impossible for other life to exist somewhere else. In fact I would like to think that there is other life that is searching for the truth just as we are. Would that shatter my faith in God? Why should it? If I start with the premise that God created the universe, to say that there are other life forms than man, is not to say that God ceases to exist.

Why would that be a threat to religion? It would seem to me that it would open a whole new dimension in the meaning of “religion” and “faith” to think that there is so much more to the creation than we imagined.

Support for this view is evident in the history books.

In the 15th century explorers thought that they had charted all the known world, before Columbus made his famous voyage. It was a shock to society and the church to find out that there was “another world” that existed across the waters and it had millions of inhabitants who did not know about Jesus or the God of the Hebrews. If the atheists argument that ET would destroy religion, then the church should have collapsed then and there. It is hard, but necessary, to understand, that the discovery of a “new world”, to the European society and church at that time in history, was every bit as dramatic and traumatic as the landing of a UFO with aliens would be to us today. It is of no small significance that they spoke of the “New World” for centuries after that.

After the shock wore off, the church adjusted and considered the new order to be an opportunity for expansion. Though the methods of expansion left much to be desired and at times were not morally supportable, they didn’t fold and say that everything they knew before was wrong. Because Jesus had predicted that the Word would be preached to all around the world, the church realized that the new discoveries were simply an extension of His mandate to “Go ye therefore and teach all nations.”

If we discovered that there were other worlds “out there” with intelligent inhabitants, would the mandate be any different? Isaiah 9:7 says, “Of the increase of His government…there shall be no end”.

We still don’t know for sure if there is an ET or not, but whether ET exists or not, God will still be there looking over mankind as He has always done since He created Adam.

Why would you even want Texas Christian or Boise State in the National Championship game?

Question by Did you know Kevin loves the Big East.: Why would you even want Texas Christian or Boise State in the National Championship game?
They both play the weakest of D-1 football, so why are they even in the top 25? I’d rather have a one, two or even 3 loss SEC, PAC-10, Big Ten or Big 12 team in the game. Those 2 don’t deserve to even be in FBS. And If Auburn loses I’d rather them give Oregon the title without having to play BSU or TCU.
New Mexico State, Louisiana Tech, Hawaii, Wyoming, Toledo..ect. That is a laughable schedule. BSU should play in D-2

its because they beast it up in their conference; and some people like to see change in the championship game, see some teams that aren’t from the big conferences like the big 12, the SEC, the pac 10, etc. and boise and tcu are actually pretty good

Q&A: Would one world religion be ok if it was your religion imposed over the world ?

Question by Trout: Would one world religion be ok if it was your religion imposed over the world ?
Oh no one world religon imposed by the UN ….. ?

Would that be ok with you if your thought it was going to be your religion ?

If your no longer opposed to one world religion if its your religion then how against a one world religion are you in reality ?

If your against Truly against a one world religion taking over globally wouldn’t that mean you SUPPORT all the other religions in all its diversity across the globe ? Or were you hoping to escape the decision by passing it unto your god to force YOUR one world religion down peoples throats ?

If World religion should lose its hold on the people today, would you be financially affected?

IF WORLD religion should lose its hold on the people today, would you be financially affected? Think carefully. If religion went out of business, would it affect your business or livelihood? You have to take into consideration, especially if you live in Christendom, the Christmas shopping season, you have to consider Easter with its incentive for new attire for the “Easter parade,” you need to think of all the exchange and employment in the sale of candles, images, crosses, religious objects, church construction and furniture, church weddings, funerals and the like. In fact, what activity of life is there, from the cradle to the grave, where the church does not have some influence, and most of these things with a cost attached? Many people, merchants particularly, think of the great religious holidays first in terms of the commercial aspect, the shopping and gift-giving and the like, before they do the religious aspect.an even greater influence in a commercial way has been exercised by world religion as it has had to do with the control of business. In whole countries, states and provinces the dominant religion often holds a large share of industry and business. Religion is often the factor that determines the individual’s business opportunities and employment. There is no denying that the religion of this world has catered to those members of its churches who are most influential in business. The concern has not been ‘How did a man get his money?’ but ‘Does he have it?’ Religion of this world has always had riches. In pagan lands as well as even in some controlled by Christendom, the poor are in poverty while the temples of religion are filled with objects of gold. Many of the temples and churches have spires, domes and the like that are covered with gold, making the building the most magnificent one in the community.
With these facts in mind isn’t it more obvious that the Bible is absolutely true when it describes what the fall of this great religious empire will mean. Rev. 18:11-17?
