control of the worlds governments are actually true, how do you feel about that? Are you in favor of a christian theocracy in the U.S. and then eventually a global christian theocracy? Didn’t we already go through that with the Holy Roman Empire and weren’t alot of christians even persecuted by that government?

The world has lots of whackadoodles. Some of them want to take over the world (none are able). Some of them are Christian. It has no effect on my life.

2) Are you in favor of a christian theocracy in the U.S. and then eventually a global christian theocracy?

I would want to know the details of such a supposed theocracy before giving a firm answer, but probably I would be opposed (unless we are talking about the Millennium during which Jesus himself rules the Earth).

3) Didn’t we already go through that with the Holy Roman Empire and weren’t alot of christians even persecuted by that government?

The Holy Roman Empire certainly was not a theocracy, so the answer is: no. I don’t recall Christians being persecuted under that government – but I admit my knowledge of the history of that empire is limited to the most historically-important aspects. As I recall, the authority of Christianity was firmly subjected to the authority of the emperor – but that is far short of persecution.

Persecution Blog Calls Attention to Plight of Persecuted Christians Around the World

(PRWEB) July 11, 2005

Christian non-profit ministry Voice of the Martyrs (VOM), in partnership with marketing agency Web Direct Advertising, has started a blog focused on the plight of Christians across the globe who are being persecuted for their faith.

Called the Persecution Blog (http://www.persecutionblog.com), the web log provides daily updated news and information about persecuted Christians in countries such as Egypt, Pakistan, and China. It also attempts to focus the attention of Christians in the US and abroad on the peril fellow believers face daily in many third-world countries.

“We hope the Persecution Blog will become the central online point for the expression of ideas about the persecuted church,? said Todd Nettleton, Director of News Services for Voice of the Martyrs. He added, ?As so many are thinking, writing, reading and learning about the persecuted church, we believe the natural outflow will be to pray more often and more fervently, and to seek ways of blessing our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world.”

Regarding the use of web log technology to help communicate Voice of the Martyr?s message, Web Direct CEO Steve Cleary said, “As an owner of a marketing firm, I understand the need to always be on the cutting edge of technology maximizing its potential for the dissemination of the client’s message. Blogging is quickly becoming one of the most cost effective ways of doing this.”

Web Direct contracted business blog consulting firm Radiant Marketing Group (http://www.radiantmarketinggroup.com) to design and build the blog, oversee blog marketing efforts and provide training to the blogger. The firm chose as its blogger for the project Stacy Harp, a committed Christian and veteran blogger with deep roots in the Christian blogging community.

Information is updated on the blog several times each day. Though still in its early stages, the site is becoming a popular clearinghouse of information on the persecuted church. To date there is nothing else like it on the Internet.

Voice of the Martyrs (http://www.persecution.com) is a non-profit, interdenominational organization with a vision for aiding Christians around the world who are being persecuted for their faith in Christ, fulfilling the Great Commission, and educating the world about the ongoing persecution of Christians.

VOM is headquartered in Bartlesville, Oklahoma with thirty affiliated international offices.

Web Direct Advertising (http://www.webdirectadvertising.com) facilitates revenue on the Internet via direct response marketing. The company specializes in creating custom tailored campaigns to meet and exceed individual client goals and needs.

The Good News Talk Show is back with another Great interview. This time our host Timashion had a chance to chop it up with Christian Rapper Bizzle. In this interview Bizzle talks about his view on the use of the word “Nigga”, his growth as a Christian and why he chose to expose Jay-Z and others who are Anti-Christ in their lyrics and lifestyles. Bizzle has been the topic of a lot of “barbershop” conversations in the Christian and Non-Christian communities. These discussions are mainly about his unconventional approach to apologetics.

Once their accounts have been activated, users have access to a myriad of features, including personalizing profiles, uploading pictures, rating other users, posting events and sending messages. Each member also has the ability to monitor how much information is accessible to other users.

“Our members will find that ChristianVibes.com is easier to navigate than many other social networking sites,” Frazer said. “The lay out is not only appealing to the eye, but it also offers a variety of privacy options that most Web sites just don’t offer.”

Are Christians Judgmental People?

christian world news
by h de c

I alternate my listening between our local news talk station (Rush Limbaugh, Neal Boortz, Sean Hannity) and ESPN radio (Mike and Mike, Colin Cowherd, Dan Patrick). When the news gets boring – like when Boortz gets to talking about flying his plane – I switch to sports. When the sports news gets boring – for me, pretty much anything other than NFL football – I turn to the news.

I was listening to ESPN radio the other day, and the host was blasting “judgmental Christians”. He went on to say, “I know the teachings of Jesus, and he said that we’re not to judge other people.”

Now, I’m a pretty even-tempered guy, but when a schlock-jock who doesn’t know what he’s talking about starts expositing the scriptures, I get riled up.

I would like to challenge the notion that Jesus’ number-one-message was, “Don’t judge.” That’s simply not what he was talking about. In fact, he encourages us to judge! Let’s take a look.

Mat 7:1 NLT

(1) “Do not judge others, and you will not be judged.

This is the little verse that causes so much confusion. If we were to stop with this verse, we could say that we are to leave well enough alone and go on with our non-judging self. But, in order to understand a verse of scripture, you have to examine the context – that is, the relationship of that one verse to the others around it.

Ignoring the context and building a world view around one isolated verse is like ignoring the whole recipe and trying to build a cake from just 2 cups of flour.

When this verse is read in context, it becomes clear that Jesus is not condemning making judgments – he’s condemning hypocrisy.

Mat 7:3 NLT

(3) “And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?

This hypocrisy is what is so obnoxious to God. And this is really what the world objects to as well. In the eyes of many, the church has done a pretty poor job maintaining its own integrity, and, consequently, has lost the moral authority it once had.

Finally, Jesus actually encourages Christians to judge with the proper attitude:

Mat 7:5 NLT

(5) Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.

Jesus doesn’t have a problem with us judging the speck in a friend’s eye as long as we’ve dealt with the log in our own. The truth is, a word of correction given by the right person, at the right time, and in the right manner, can be a voice of guidance for someone who desperately needs it.

WWE Superstar Christian’s storyline in WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011

If you are a fan of WWE Superstar Christian and haven’t had a chance to check out the WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 video game, I highly recommend you either purchase or rent it.  The game has their traditional “Road To Wrestlemania” gameplay where you take control of one of their wrestlers as they head into the WWE’s biggest annual event that is perpetually sold out and has huge buy rates for its PPV.  Fortunately in the latest release of the game, Christian has his own storyline.

You start out taking control of Christian as he dominates the ECW as the heavyweight champion.  ECW general manager Tiffany ends up trading him to Smackdown and during his final PPV title defense, Dolph Ziggler interferes and causes him to lose the belt.  Once he heads over to Smackdown he gets his revenge and wrestles various matches to move up the rankings and into title contention.

Along the way you’re going to reunite with your childhood friend and former tag team partner Edge and while there is some tension as these two tag up and take on all comers, many of their old antics resurface.  For instance the guys have a kazoo rap session in the locker room, wear crazy hats to the ring on “Crazy Hat Friday” and even do a 5 second pose on national television for Christian’s grandma, who always liked Edge better.  Watching these two characters interact definitely bring back a flood of great memories and I sincerely hope they give these two guys another run before the hang up their boots.

If you win the Money in the Bank, you end up with a tough choice.  Do you cash it in and wrestle your long time friend for the Heavyweight title or do you instead select to face the RAW champion for the WWE Title?  Either way you’ll have tons of fun controlling this amazing wrestler as he makes the tough decisions.
