We took a train from Sevilla to Cordoba for a day.

The highlight of Cordoba is La Mezquita, or The Great Mosque of Cordoba. On this site, there’s been a Roman temple, Christian Visigoth church (600 AD), Islamic mosque, and a Roman Catholic cathedral of early Baroque style.

Salvation Army Volunteer Anthony Rizzo is a Finalist in the WEDU Be More Awards

St. Petersburg, FL (PRWEB) February 07, 2012

Volunteer Anthony Rizzo of The Salvation Army, St. Petersburg, Florida was recognized as a finalist in the WEDU Be More Awards?, Be More Involved, Mason Dixon Award for Volunteerism. Mason Dixon, community philanthropist and Q105 radio personality, will ultimately choose and present the award winner. The seventh annual Be More Awards will take place on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012 at the A La carte Event Pavilion in Tampa. The annual event, recognized as the ?Academy? Awards for Nonprofits,? begins at 11:00am.

Anthony Rizzo comes from Long Island, New York and works full-time for Bright Horizons Family Solutions as a teacher and community service liaison. Anthony applied with The Salvation Army in St. Petersburg, Florida in June 2011 and volunteers on his only days off with children in the Red Shield Lodge shelter.

Anthony was an immediate hit in the shelter! He arrived with anticipation, enthusiasm, and bags full of crafts, books, and activities. He volunteered with children while their mothers attended morning workshops and with children of families waiting to register for Christmas assistance. He planned and coordinated monthly activities including a barbeque and holiday activities for shelter mothers and children.

Anthony?s company establishes not-for-profit Bright Spaces for children in Shelters ? ?safe places for children in times of crisis.? Part of our Family Unit is designated a Bright Space but there was very little contact with the establishing center. Part of Anthony?s job is to reconnect the establishing centers with the Bright Spaces they create in community shelters. He made it come alive again with child care volunteers and enrichment programs. He is implementing his company?s ?All Star Volunteer Program? which allows center employees to come once a month for selected activities.

Anthony began his career in child care with Boys & Girls Club in 1996. He has worked with Big Brothers Big Sisters and has been with Bright Horizons for 9 years. Anthony is single and loves to travel. ?I like to be behind the scenes. I do these things because I love children and love to do what I am doing.? One person can make an extraordinary difference and Anthony Rizzo has done so for us in a very short time.

How can virgin people avoid porn ?

Question by M: How can virgin people avoid porn ?
I am a 24 years old guy who doesn’t want to watch porn and I am virgin because I am a profound christian and will wait till my marriage for my wife to create a happy and religious family.

I have seen so many antiporn movements and let me say they are perfect but those sites work for only those who are married or have a partner in their life. And I think is kinda crazy because if I get married I will never watch porn. Now I watch porn once per week or once per 2 weeks and I am very sad for that and especially from the religious view.

I have avoid even females for sex due to my christian view of having a healthy life and family after.

The problem is even lets say well bigger. I study a really difficult major abroad and of course with scholarship and not in my native language so I do have to study a lot to get good marks.
I am now in the last year but I think that I will continue PhD.
So basically my random day is as follow:
1) Room in which I live alone and only can study, live and of course watch, write, program and talk with my laptop.
2) University
3) Supermarket
4) Church and their activities and travel to some places in the country or abroad when I have holidays.

So that’s basically all those 5 years life as student and I don’t feel lonely. My problem in those years was : How to avoid porn when you are virgin and you don’t feel lonely but you don’t know what to do in free time after you finished doing your random things like studying, watching all movies, chatting.
So basically that is routine life well for about 4 other years as I will do PhD so please can you advice me how people in my situation can avoid porn.

I know that are so many guys and girls like me that have the same situation so please give us an advice that what to do other things instead of watching porn.

Thank you in advance.

Not sure if you’re talking about masturbation or just looking at porn while mastubating?

If you want to quit both then you have no chance.

If it’s just porn then use your imagination as a substitute – think of you and your future wife making sweet love in the marital bed if that makes you happy.

Why do the JW’s, and some other christians always say “have you heard the good news”?

Question by Buddhist_teen: Why do the JW’s, and some other christians always say “have you heard the good news”?
Isn’t the “good” news that pretty soon two thirds of the world is going to hell? Only one third of the world is christian, so that doesn’t exactly sound good to me.

I try to respect all other religions and lack there of, and I do, but hell is one belief I can’t bring myself to respect. So why is it “good” news?

New Book Asks, Is It Really Just A Small World?

Greenville, PA (PRWEB) January 24, 2012

In this not-your-run-of-the-mill autobiography, Is It Really Just A Small World? There Are No Coincidences! (published by WestBow Press), author Sandra Boyce Ghost takes readers on a journey through her life’s amazing story. She presents solid answers to the questions, are the coincidental happenings in life really happenstance? Is there something greater at work? ?To read it is to regard your own life through newly enlightened eyes,? says Ghost.

Ghost chronicles her story as a teen trying to swim upstream in a troubled home life, who uses marriage as an escape from the parental river of alcohol. When physical abuse ends the first union, a second marriage promises all her dreams will come true until she finds herself desperately trying to win her new husband?s approval to no avail.

In a fluke of circumstances, Ghost is thrust into singing onstage. This occurrence blossoms into a surprising career as a nightclub entertainer with bookings all over the U.S. and Canada, appearances on television and even a recording contract. Ghost says this is when the miracles began to happen.

?Is It Really Just A Small World? traces a significant pattern of coincidences, suggesting the intervening Hand of God,? explains Ghost.

Through this story filled with glitz, glamour, tragedy, comedy, love, loss and redemption, readers will find excitement about their lives as they reflect on their own journeys. ?You will never look at a ?coincidence? the same way again,? says Ghost.

About the Author

The catalyst that launched Sandra Boyce Ghost?s writing career was winning the Guideposts Magazine Writers? Award in 1971. Subsequently, she has had four other books published, has been a newspaper columnist and editor, vice president of a public mining company and is currently vice president of a local chapter of Aglow International. She lives in Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania with her noble German Shepherd, Kelly, and claims her greatest gifts in life are her children, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Yet, she claims she hasn?t decided what she wants to be when she grows up!

Do you think less of a news writer’s credibility when they reference the Holy Bible in a news story?

christian travel sites
by Narisa

Question by Jay T: Do you think less of a news writer’s credibility when they reference the Holy Bible in a news story?
Take for example, this special interest piece on Yahoo’s front page where the writer is describing a “sinking hole” phenomenon along the coast of the Dead Sea:

“The parched moonscape, famous as the site of biblical Sodom and Gomorra, is the lowest point on earth and runs more than 60 miles through Israel and the West Bank.”
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap_travel/20090623/ap_tr_ge/ml_travel_brief_israel_dead_sea_sinkholes

Here, we have two potential problems:

1) The author uses the word “moonscape” to describe a location which is not on the moon. This would be an acceptable metaphor in fiction writing where accuracy is not as important as mood. But in a news-type science article, it’s not considered acceptable by most editors.

2) The author lends credulence to the stories of the Christian Bible as he understands them by indicating that the area he is writing about is the location of a major Biblical event. He does not use any words like “fabled” or “mythical” or “supposed” or “speculated”. He states the location as fact.

It is NOT fact that God destroyed two cities along the Dead Sea because of their disobedience to him. It may be a widely held belief – but not a fact.
I’ve been noticing Biblical references in Yahoo’s News Stories, Fox News and other sites which utilize the Associated Press for quite some time now, and I’d almost be willing to wager that they come from the same little group of AP authors.

Whether you are a religious person or not, do these sorts of poetic or “accidental” oversights bother you to the point that you would consider them propaganda?

Married And Singles Christians – What Are Your Beliefs When It Comes To Sex And The Single Christian?

Question by slc_225: Married And Singles Christians – What Are Your Beliefs When It Comes To Sex And The Single Christian?
All comments are welcome, whether you are a Christian or not. However, I am especially interested in the views of those who are Christians.

Single and married Christians, men and women. When it comes to our faith, what are your views concerning sex and the single Christian?

Do you believe that abstinence until marriage is only for the young, or do you believe that fornication is a sin no matter how old a person is?

I am not asking this question for myself. I am single, but I believe that sex without marriage is fornication and that fornication is a sin as the Bible says, but I’m curious to find out what you believe.
I would like to take a moment and clear up a misconception to those of you who are not Christians.

Sometimes Christians are viewed as prudes and people who hate sex and believe that it is something dirty. Nothing could be further from the truth. In the first place, we are all here *because* of sex. We are also sexual beings, and sex is a divine creation (and gift to married people, men and women) from God. I am not forcing my beliefs on you, just stating some things I believe are true.

Best answer:

Answer by jesusfrk
Sin is sin, no matter the age. Sex is a gift from God to the married folks only. God knows what is best. Think of the mess that happens when people do it their own way. There is unwanted pregnancies, diseases, emotional baggage, I am sure the list could go on and on.
